Ahead of the 2025 CELAC-EU Presidential Summit in Colombia, Climate Action Network Latin America (CANLA) and Climate Action Network Europe (CAN Europe) call for a new era of bi-regional cooperation grounded in shared responsibility, equity, and climate justice.
The statement urges leaders from both regions to commit to a just transition, the phase-out of fossil fuels, and stronger climate finance, biodiversity protection, and human rights safeguards.
CANLA and CAN Europe highlight that the Summit is a turning point to transform EU–LAC relations into an inclusive and accountable partnership that delivers hope and resilience for people and the planet — paving the way towards COP30.
